Your appointment time is reserved especially for you.
At Tarneit Family Medical and Dental Centre, we understand that circumstances can change. However, when a patient does not attend their scheduled appointment, that appointment time is unable to be offered to another patient who may need medical care.
To help us manage appointments fairly and reduce wasted appointment times, a $30 Did Not Attend (DNA) Fee applies when a patient does not attend their scheduled appointment.
Please be aware
If you do not attend your appointment, a $30 DNA Fee will apply.
- The DNA Fee applies when a patient fails to attend their scheduled appointment.
- There is no minimum cancellation notice period under this policy.
- If you are unable to attend, please contact the clinic as soon as possible so we can update your appointment.
- SMS reminders are provided as a courtesy. Not receiving an SMS reminder does not remove responsibility for attending your scheduled appointment.
- DNA Fees are a private fee and are not claimable through Medicare.
- Tarneit Family Medical and Dental Centre reserves the right that any outstanding DNA Fee are to be paid before another appointment can be booked.
- Patients with repeated non-attendance may have restrictions placed on future bookings.
Why do we have this policy?
Our doctors and healthcare professionals set aside specific appointment times for each patient. When an appointment is missed without the patient attending, that time cannot always be offered to someone else.
By attending your appointments, you help us provide timely access to care for all our patients.
